Veterinary Schools in South Korea

1 researched institution with a campus here, offering 3 veterinary programs. This is the research done to date, not a complete list of every program.

3 programs

How results are ordered: alphabetically by institution, or by most recently checked when you choose that sort. There is no price ranking, because tuition in different currencies, fee categories and bases (per year, per credit, whole program) is not comparable. Adjacent subjects such as pre-veterinary or animal science appear only when you choose a subject. A value we could not verify is shown as “not published”, never as “no”. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change accreditation information, verification or order. Online programs are not counted as physically located in a state or city, and an institution’s location does not tell you whether it enrols students from your country.

About veterinary education in South Korea

How veterinary education is organised

Seoul National University's College of Veterinary Medicine states that it runs a six-year programme of two pre-vet years plus a four-year DVM course. Its Korean applicant page says one must complete a veterinary college curriculum to become eligible for the national veterinary licence examination, and lists ten veterinary colleges in Korea (nine national universities and Konkuk University); that list was not independently checked in this session.

Qualification structures

Names and levels are local to South Korea. Similar names in other countries are not interchangeable.

DVM (2-year pre-vet + 4-year veterinary course)
Six-year programme leading to eligibility for the Korean National Veterinary License Exam administered by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency. Source
Graduate school master's, doctoral and integrated master's-doctoral courses
SNU's published completion rules require at least 24 course credits (master's), 36 (doctoral) or 60 (integrated), plus a thesis passed by a committee. Source

Bodies that matter, and what each one does

Accreditation, validation, education authority and registration are different roles. Do not read a listing by one body as evidence from another.

Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (QIA)
Administers the Korean National Veterinary License Exam, according to the SNU College of Veterinary Medicine page.
AVMA Council on Education (COE)
US accrediting body; its published list shows Seoul National University accredited (initial accreditation 12/14/2018, last evaluation 2025, next evaluation 2032). Accreditation does not itself confer a licence to practise.

Route to registration

Current rules as described by the official source; always check the authority directly.

Per SNU, completing the veterinary college curriculum makes graduates eligible to sit the national veterinary examination; SNU states its curriculum meets educational requirements for licensure in Korea and that it cannot determine whether it meets those of other US states and jurisdictions. No degree on this site automatically permits anyone to practise as a veterinarian, and nothing here is visa, work-permit or credit-transfer advice.

Languages and admissions

Teaching languages. Korean-language websites; SNU publishes an English site but the teaching language of each programme was not stated on fetched pages.
